Love it!! Great job!

the current font is a very good bold statement, but what do you think to playing with the font as a nod to the prototype cheek text? I don't think a T5 was ever decorated like that, but it's a nice little nod to EE history. I've seen the same text appear on Lightning wall-charts form hangars (schematics of systems etc..), just in my mind it's always been a little synonymous with the old girl, but it could be just me.

Initial googling:

I was looking for an "official" Lightning font/logo but haven't yet found anything large or high-quality enough to use. Trying to create it from a font might be possible, of course...

Ah, were you going off something like this?

when looking through the AP's, there is no particular font used for the lightning, however, as I said earlier, we had some wall charts that had flashy handwriting-esque Lightning wording on them, similar to what was on the noses of the prototypes, so I'd go with that as being the closest thing to an official logo / font..

I had some idea I'd seem something similar to the one I've assimilated already, but Googling did not reveal anything so don't know where I got that from - could have been anything with such an iconic aircraft. I will try and see if I can approximate the script-style one in your examples.
