This is a general flight for all members of Flightgear I have posted it everywhere since the community has seemed to become so split. It will be in June. I think when people actually talk to each other via voice they find they may have more in common than they think. There have been many spats over petty thing in my book in different forums and this is my attempt to break some of that cycle. The flight should last less than 2 hours. I'll have to test it to be sure. Voice comms may be the issue since some like mumble, some like discord and FGUK of course uses Teamspeak. I t would be nice if we could somehow all agree on one. As far as aircraft something that can go at least about 115-120 knots. The minimum altitude for the flight if you stay on the direct flight plan would be 15,000 ft but you can easily fly a bit to the right and fly much lower. Its just a scenic flight through the eastern part of Alaska through the mountains and some time to BS. All are welcome and any input is also welcome. I will also make sure the time doesn't interfere with Flight Nights.
All the best,

Any idea of when this event will take place? I'm all about unity especially when it uses FGFS MP - it's hard to be upset with people when we all fly together and talk about RL stuff or just banter. We all share a common interest - FlightGear.
That in and of itself is a phenomenon worth nurturing. FlightGear and the Open Source concept should be the model for the 21st/22nd century where people contribute what they can and take what they need without large amounts of money changing hands.
Look how far FGFS has come...look how far all of this has come...without money being the standard or anyone making a profit/getting wealthy off of others work and passion!

Sorry for the late reply I've been busy around here. I posted it on the main FG forum as well. Here is what it looks like so far. This is where we are so far on the forum. That would put in on a Sunday so it would not interfere with Flight Nights. ! hour before you normally have it on Saturdays. Since its a long flight plan i don't see why people can't just bring what they want. I'll have to keep checking and posting what planes are being flown for those who come. I personally don't like looking at gliders but thats just me.
"Just a thought.... The route splits in half at about PAVD. If a group wants to start out at Homer (PAHO) at a given time, then 2 hours later have a start at PAVD, then 2 hours later everyone can land at Yakutat (PAYA). Anyone wanting to boost faster than 120 (say 160ish in a DHC6 does for 3 hours total whole route) can start at a fractionally later time."
"The key will be to set an actual date, since we're already in June. How about Sunday, June 24, 18:00 UTC (1 PM Central) for start at PAHO, 20:00 UTC for PAVD starters, event ends around 22:00ish? If I'm coordinating I'll say let's use Mumble for voice comm."

No problems Geed. priorities man. I miss all of the Flight Nights but thats 2 pm for me and this time of year nature will try and reclaim my place. I lost a race to a 100 year old man the other day. I don't get it done as fast as I use to but I still try.
I will be there in either the P47-D-30 or the Sepecat Jaguar. There are some capitalization problem with the Jag that cause people using Linux not to be able to see the model and other things. If I don't get this all sorted out by tonight I will Fly the P47. Here is a link to the Jag
. I would wait until tomorrow to git clone or download the zip if you are a Linux user due to reason I stated before. Here is the link for the P-47
. If you don't download this and only have the old FGaddon version you will see a plane on fire most likely. There have been a lot of changes and its converted to JSBsim. The P47 is good to go now for Linux and Windows users. Hope to see you there.
