24th Nov.Scouting Norway

24th Nov, 8pm uK time.

Scouting Norway.

This is a Chopper flight over some dramatic West Coast Norwegian scenery.

The flight is only open to the Westland Scout, hens the flight name "Scouting Norway "
Download it here in plenty of time, and practice flying it, a lot.:-
www.fguk.eu/index.php/hangar/download/13...g/561-westland-scout

The Scout is not a fast chopper so our waypoints are fairly close together. We may be taking no direct routs depending on the weather.

The Route:-
ENBR
ENBL
ENFL - Half way stop point(ish)
ENSD
ENOV
ENAL
ENML

Second half is slightly longer than the first due to the distances involved, but it should all work out just fine. Please make sure your medical insurance is up to date and you have written your last will and testament before FlightNight.

As this is a chopper night and especially with a nasty flying bug like the Scout, there will be no text chat from me at all at any time. All comms will be on our TeamSpeak :-
www.fguk.eu/index.php/2013-09-03-13-01-0...peak3-server-details

See you all soon. If I don't you shall be publicly mocked and have fingers pointed at you while I shout insults at you.

If you cant fly the scout, it does support Multiplayer passengers and you could join in with someone and help them navigate, or hold the sick bag etc.

A very nice bird, indeed! Lovely to fly - as long as you keep control. Unfortunatelaty I fear I again won't be able to come to Norway :( ...

I realize that I can fly the Scout faster than 110 kts, and I wonder wether the turn and slip indicator works correctly as I always seem to slip to the left, whatever I do with the pedals.

Thank you for this aircraft, Stuart!

Note:

Replaced / updated ZIP. Link is the same - no change.

Now includes proper, identifiable liveries ( and more than before, altho' I tossed the color ones.)

and Splash partially implemented - all code is in place, Pic folder only has 2, 1 instruments / cockpit and one largely silhouetted. Once livery dependent reflection is in place, will be easy to drop in better and more pics.

A bit off topic for thread, but will there be the cousin Wasp variant to come?

Toodles!

If you lived with my brain you'd begin eviction proceedings...

I seem to be having a lot of trouble controlling this helicopter. I can't get higher than about thirty or so feet, and it always pulls down to the left.

Welcome to a proper first generation turbine helicopter with no pilot aids to help you what so ever. You need to learn it and actually fly this one, its not going to fly itself.

Independent reflect is in place Gary. It was on the version I uploaded. Westland Wasp is on the list but the model , like the scout, is a pig to work on.

I just had a short go with it around honolulu & off the truman - I found it touchy to fly, but ok. The main thing I was doing wring to start with was not waiting long enough for the rpm to stabilise (in the yellow band)

It's doubtful I'll make the flight sorry
