4th Nov, Lake Geneva tour

30 Oct 2017 19:07 - 04 Nov 2017 09:14 #36169 by StuartC
Remember, Remember the 4th of November because this flight night will scar your mind forever.

4th Nov, 8pm UK time ( UK is no longer in Daylight Savings time ).

The Lake Geneva Auto Giro Tour ( Yes you read that correctly, I said AUTO GYRO ).

The Aircraft of choice ( the ONLY choice ) is the JT 58 Autogyro available here:-
www.fguk.eu/index.php/hangar/download/6-...amaki-jt-5b-autogyro

What a lovely beast it is.

You have until Flight night to learn how to fly it. Learning how to land it may also be useful.

We will be Starting at SION airport LSGS, following the valley until we reach Lake Geneva and then taking a Right turn following the shore until we reach Lausanne LSGL, where we will be stopping for our rest.
The Journey continues round Lake Geneva in a counter clockwise direction, passing over Geneva LSGG, and returning to LSGL.

Good luck to all....................

All voice coms will be using TS3:-

Interesting one.

Supposedly has livery capable, but on test nada tostada.

Could look like this...

But someone would be needing to fix that. Can supply additional paint for any volunteers.

Warning: Noobs-question ;-)

I copied the downloaded liveries to the livery folder of the aircraft but when I try to select a livery in the FG-GUI with JT-5B Autogyro > Select Livery I get no window where to chose from.
I experienced the same for some other aircrafts but I always thought that it must be a fault in the aircraft. Now I feel that there is a general problem.
Anybody any idea?

For most aircrafts (EC 130, EC 135, many others) I do get a choice of liveries, at least the ones that are per default delivered together with the aircraft.

I am running FG 2017.2.1 on Xubuntu 17.10

So far I managed to get 15 minutes of flight experience with the auto gyro (in proper yellow!).
I managed to crash twice but also to take of once and land once.
Considering that I am quite a beginner with flying in general I think that I am now close to professional and ready for the Lake Geneva tour :-)

Greetings,

Hans

Hi all,

found the reasons for the non-working liveries swap :

- in the JT-5B-base.xml, nasal section :
<nasal>
<JT-5B>
<file>Aircraft/JT-5B/Nasal/Liveries.nas</file>
</JT-5B>
it should be liveries.nas (lower-case l)

more important, in the models folder, JT-5B.xml, a missing part defining the livery to use (with the corresponding .ac file names)
try to add this in the file:

<animation>
<type>material</type>
<object-name>Plane.001</object-name>
<object-name>Plane.002</object-name>
<object-name>Plane.003</object-name>
<object-name>Plane.005</object-name>
<object-name>Cube.004</object-name>
<object-name>Cylinder.018</object-name>
<object-name>Cylinder.019</object-name>
<object-name>Cylinder.020</object-name>
<object-name>throttle</object-name>
<object-name>throttle.001</object-name>
<object-name>throttle.002</object-name>
<object-name>throttle.003</object-name>
<object-name>rudder</object-name>
<object-name>gearB</object-name>
<object-name>gearF</object-name>
<object-name>gearFLeg</object-name>
<object-name>gearFLegUp</object-name>
<object-name>gearL</object-name>
<object-name>gearLLeg</object-name>
<object-name>gearR</object-name>
<object-name>gearRLeg</object-name>
<object-name>throttle</object-name>
<object-name>prerotator</object-name>
<property-base>sim/model/livery</property-base>
<texture-prop>texture</texture-prop>
<texture>body_all.png</texture>
</animation>

it's working now for me ;)

Pumped in a "best I can do" Little Nellie paint. Done. Putting a straight line on a curving mapping is a veritable see-you-next-Tuesday.

At least variety is assured come Saturday.

Wheee!

lol

Modded Models/body_all.png to give nicer wheel hubs and tyres.
