10 Jan 2017 21:49 - 11 Jan 2017 12:00 #32344 by Vodoun da Vinci

We'll meet in front of the Tower at SEQM at 2000 UTC. Bring a helicopter of your choice remembering that all of the airports we will be flying in and out of are above 7000' - 9000' and we'll be flying up to 14000' at times and maintaining a cruise speed of around 110 KIAS. Basically we will be flying South following I35 South thru the very heart of Volcano Alley and past a number of dormant volcano's.

We'll be passing Chimborazo - peak elevation 20,600' and other significant mountains.

Basic route: SEQM
>SELT
>SEAM
>SERB
>SECU

At final destination SECU/Mariscal Lamar we'll be landing in front of the steel shelters. Take off at SEQM/Mariscal Sucre is 7800'.

See you there and as always, if you bring a 'chopper from outside the FGUK Hangar, please link so we don't see Blue Gliders.I'll be attending in an EC-145.

We'll be veering West off of our Southerly path to visit the general vicinity of Chimborazo and have a good look at it....we'll save landing on it for another FlightNight Adventure. We'll be landing at SERB for fuel and refreshment and after we head out we'll divert East to another spectacular extinct volcano, El Altar.

This unique volcano has a bowl shaped crater which we will be playing about in before continuing South to our final destination.

Good luck. Pick yer chopper with some degree of care for this one. :woohoo:
