My stuff from helikit arrived today, however there be an issue or 2 setting it up on FlightGear.
I have just bought a Helicopter set up from Heli Kit.
It all runs through a single USB to the PC. Windows configuration tool recognises all buttons and axes for everything.
However, Flight Gear does not find nor recognise the pedals. Out of the 7 available axis on the joystic configuration tool in FG, none react to the pedal input. How can I trace what axes it is to manually input it into the xml ???
I need to reverse the throttle input. There is no reverse option tick box in the FG Joystick configuration for that axis. I have tried adding a factor or -1 to the axis code, but that has no effect.
if you start fgjs.exe from FG's bin folder, hit enter until the count down starts and move the cyclic up and down until the counter stops. The axis with a number other than zero should be the one provided that the tool shows it in the first place.
The throttle/collective issue is resolved ( and I have the twist grip on the collecting working with the engine power setting in our choppers too ), but its all useless unless I can get the pedals working.
So far I have only got all the inputs working with FSX.
Tried in XP11 as well, which lets you set it up, configure it, then totally ignores it after that pont once you are in a chopper..
Is the Windows calibration tool actually working, i.e. giving you the ability to adjust their settings? My issue with my Rhino throttle seems to manifest similarly to this - in my case, the controller appears in the USB Game Controllers, but no calibration controls show up - it's just a blank grey panel with some text at the top...
