Sometimes I do not even get a pilot list. Haven't yet found out when this happens because often it works fine. Yesterday was OK, but often the pilot list appears for half a second and then its gone. Never had a FG crash because of that though.
And I have to admit that within the last 2 weeks I made
* BIOS update
* OS update (Xubuntu 17.10 to 18.04) and together with that
* FG update from 2017.2.1 to 2018.1.1
So I have many possible culprits for failure.
On the other hand complete FG crashes are now very rare for me (even though (or because of ) running Linux). Actually I can not even remember the last one.....
Pilots online is a pretty easy thing to pull from the property tree, so Porcy, maybe we could sort you out some kind of workaround if this is a perpetual issue. It would take me like an hour, probably, to code up an alternative pilots list. We might even be able to improve on the original...
We could also try this tonight if you're about - what I'd do is, first write a simple bit of code that replaces the existing pilot list menu entry with a simple pop up saying "Boo" or something, once we know that works, then fill that popup with pilot information instead, drawn in a simple way from the property tree. It might not have the ignore function and stuff like that, but simplicity might solve the problem in this case...
It just occurred to me that we - myself included - should probably take a technical discussion elsewhere, mostly for the reason that it will be easier to find in the future if it's in the right subforum, but also because this could get lengthy and that's not what the Media areas are for.
