05 AUG 2017, 8pm UK time. Veraison

This is the weekend of the Fete de la Veraison, when Chateauneuf-du-Pape goes back in time and celebrates its medieval past. Thoroughly recommended if you can ever make it there. A 5Euro memorial glass gets topped up the whole weekend :woohoo: Too late now to get accommodation, I would think. But, after 12 hours of free wine, the hedgerow would probably suffice B)

Chateauneuf-du-Pape doesn't have an airfield so I recommend a helicopter for getting there. It will also help with the half-time break as we can just "pull over" onto the river bank. Actually, Chateauneuf-du-Pape doesn't even have any buildings but I have made some custom scenery. The flightplan and AI scenario with custom scenery are available at the ....

Starting at Courchevel Altiport (LFLJ), over the top to LFKD then following the river. Cruise speed: about 130kt. Chateauneuf-du-Pape is just past LFMO/Orange (of King Billy fame).

is a fairly flat spot near the town for spawning.

We will be using live weather (unless it's really dreadful) and a dawn departure.

The initial departure from LFLJ (Courchevel) is quite tricky as it it involves climbing to over 11,000ft and then going towards LFKD.

It is all downhill from there towards 7352 (St Remy de Maurienne or LFKR on SkyVector). Following the the river downstream will bring you to the destination of the Flight Night. Simples!

Comms will be on TeamSpeak, see: http://www.fgukmedia.co.uk/index.php/forum/radio-comms
